Toi See Jong
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Toi See Jong is the Chief Executive Officer of Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad. A qualified actuary from United Kingdom, he is a well-recognised business leader with a wealth of experience in insurance coupled with strong understanding of both the local and overseas market.
Mr. Toi has successfully spearheaded and managed financial organisations in various positions over the span of 25 years with the first position based in the United Kingdom. He assumed positions such as Appointed Actuary and Chief Executive Officer in Malaysia before taking on other senior positions in China, Singapore and Hong Kong.
He will be instrumental in steering the Company into the next phase of its corporate development and position it as the leading life insurance company reputed for excellent service and products.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Yoshiaki Okabe assumes the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd. (TMLM) in January 2015. He is also a member of the Management Committee of TMLM.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Okabe was the Senior Vice President at Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance in India and responsible for risk management.
Mr. Okabe has more than 20 years working experience in the insurance and financial industry. He has helmed senior positions including Head of Derivatives Trading and Product Development in Tokio Marine Financial Solutions and Deputy General Manager in International Business Development Department in Tokio Marine Holdings where he managed the project to establish Tokio Marine Life in Indonesia.
Mr. Okabe holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tokyo.His stint in Tokio Marine Sri Muang Insurance Co., Ltd in Thailand as Vice President of Auto Mobile Production Department helped to develop the successful model of the Auto Mobile production business which included the establishment of 16 branches nationwide.
Kang Yu Fen
Chief Risk Officer and Corporate Planning
Kang Yu Fen, as a Chief Risk Officer and Corporate Planning, is responsible for the Risk Management and Corporate Planning functions.
Yu Fen is a qualified actuary with more than 15 years working experience performing various actuarial and risk management roles
Liew Kim Wah
Chief Agency Officer
Liew Kim Wah is the Chief Agency Officer and he oversees the Agency distribution and Training Development of Agency. As Chief Agency Officer, Mr. Liew's role is to provide strategic direction to grow the agency and with the objective of bringing the organization to greater heights. He is an industry veteran with more than 35 years insurance experience specializing in agency and branch management as well as training. Prior to joining Tokio Marine Life, he has held senior positions including Regional Vice President, Director of Sales and Head of Sales in ING. Mr. Liew is a Fellow Member of the Life Management Institute and International Claim Associate.
May Wong Kwan Yien
Chief Bancassurance Officer
May Wong is the Senior Vice President of Bancassurance Department. She joined TMLM since August 2012. She is currently overseeing the Bancassurance channel and has a total of 14 years of experience in Life Business including Product Development, Insurance Sales, Worksite Marketing; and General Insurance.
Mooi Kin Seng
Chief Financial Officer
Mooi Kin Seng, as Chief Financial Officer has oversight over the Finance and Administration; and Property functions.
Kin Seng is a qualified accountant and a member of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has over 25 years of working experience of which over 15 years is in the insurance industry.
Daniel Wong Hoi Heng
Chief Information Officer
Daniel Wong is Vice President and the Chief Information Officer. He manages the organization’s communication systems and decisions on the company’s IT broader direction, ensures the company’s IT operations is in adherence to local, regional and head office regulatory compliances, manages the implementation of technologies to further the business’ strategic goals and establish the IT department’s operative goals and objectives.
Daniel has been involved in the insurance industry for over 20 years. Before joining TMLM, Daniel had been implementing system solutions for multinational insurance and local companies in Malaysia as well as countries across the region including Australia, China, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. These were accomplished during his tenure as Principal Consultant with CSC, Head of Life Delivery with eBaoTech and Project Manager with Tyndall Australia. He has received multiple awards for Top Quality Project and Most Rapid Deployment Project awards for excellence in project delivery.
Daniel graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Canada with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Computer Science.
Tan Sze Teck
Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Tan Sze Teck is the Chief Investment Officer and has been heading the Investment Department since 2002. He is responsible for the overall investment function of the Company with fund under management exceeding RM6.5 billion. Mr. Tan’s role requires him to formulate investment strategies for the Company to invest in treasury products, private debt securities, loans as well as equities and to ensure that the investment returns meet the benchmark target within the asset allocation strategy.
Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Tan was attached to American International Assurance Co. Ltd., Malaysia as an equity analyst and Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd as a Portfolio Manager. During his 9-year stay with Prudential, apart from managing funds he was also a working committee member that was tasked to set up the first investment–linked product in Malaysia. He was also a country specialist for Malaysia to support the regional office of Prudential on the Malaysian economy and equity market. In total, he has over 24 years of experience in fund management in the Malaysian insurance industry.
Ricky Lim Soon Joo
Propositions and Pricing
Mr. Lim is the Head of Propositions and Pricing. He is responsible for product development activities for various distribution channels which includes Agency, Bancassurance and Alternate Channel, including group insurance business.
He has been with the insurance industry for more than 15 years and understands various insurance models which includes Life, General and Takaful businesses. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland.
Wong Wai Yean
Mr. Wong Wai Yean is the Head of Corporate Solutions. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University Malaya and is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI). He started his career in Employee Benefits / Group Insurance in 1985 and has worked in the Employee Benefits Department of various reputable life insurance companies in Malaysia.
In addition to having in depth experience as an underwriter of Employee Benefits, he has also worked for a leading insurance broker firm on Employee Benefits program and has headed a Third Party Administrator for health insurance administration services. His varied experience in the field of Employee Benefits will add value to the services provided to the Corporate Solutions clients of Tokio Marine Life.
Japanese Corporate Solutions
Mr. Yohei Koyama is Head of Japanese Employee Benefits Department. He started his career in Tokio Marine and Fire Insurance Co., Ltd in 2001. Currently, He is responsible in designing and administering corporate solutions program such as Group Term Life, Group Medical and work site life insurance plans for Japanese corporate clients.
Mr. Koyama graduated from University of Waseda University, Tokyo with a bachelor degree in Economics.
Wilson Tang Chee Onn
Corporate Communications and Advertising
Mr. Wilson Tang heads the Corporate Communications and Advertising team. He is responsible for the branding and communications for Tokio Marine Life. A passionate brand advocate, he is instrumental in spearheading Tokio Marine to achieve recognition in brand building, having won the BrandLaureate Awards for Best Brand from Asia Pacific Brands Foundation for two years consecutive years, 2015 and 2016.
Prior to joining Tokio Marine, Wilson has extensive experience in brand management and marketing communications, having worked in various multi-national companies in the life insurance, online recruitment and FMCG industries.
Wilson graduated from James Cook University of Queensland with a bachelor degree in Management.
Rachel Chin Yoke Kheng
Ms. Rachel Chin is the Head of Operations and she oversees the Operations Department including New Business, Customer Service, Claims and Branch Operations. As Head of Operations, Rachel's role is to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the Operations and Branches teams in supporting the current and new business of the Distribution Channels. Prior to joining Tokio Marine Life, she was a pioneer staff with AXA Affin Life who start up company and was responsible in setting up the underwriting department, looking into business rules and underwriting guidelines to ensure the regional best practices being adopted and localized. Ms. Rachel Chin is a Senior Associate member of Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
Andrew Ngou Chee Mun
Andrew Ngou Chee Mun is the Head of Internal Audit and he is heading the internal audit function of Tokio Marine Life. Andrew Ngou is a qualified auditor with 13 years of experience in internal audit, predominantly in banking and insurance industry. Prior joining to Tokio Marine Life, he was a Regional Auditor of MSIG Holdings Asia Pte Ltd and responsible in supporting the regional audits and Quality Assurance (QA) review within the ASEAN countries including Hong Kong. Andrew Ngou has worked with companies such as CIMB Group, Manulife and Public Bank previously.
He is also a Chartered Member of Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) and active member of Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB).
Derrick Lim Sheng Yew
Derrick oversees the Compliance department at Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd. and is responsible for all compliance matters in the Company. In his role, he ensures that Compliance, as an independent function, provides objective guidance and assessment on regulatory requirements as well as assurance through compliance monitoring and review.
Derrick comes from a background in Compliance and Internal Audit in both financial and non-financial industries.
Angelina leads the Human Resource function in Tokio Marine Life. She brings with her 11 years of full spectrum HR experience which include roles as HR Business Partner in Ericsson, HR Manager in Synovate/Ipsos, Talent Acquisition Lead in Dell, and Standard Chartered Global Business Services.
Apart from the holistic HR roles, Angelina had served more than 6 years in the professional recruitment industry, covering various portfolios across FMCG, pharmaceutical, banking and finance, and ICT. She worked for the world top firms such as Kornferry/Futurestep, Garner International, and Euro Group.
A true believer of HR transformation, Angelina potrays a new generation of HR practitioner and act as a change-agent to transform the traditional HR role, simultaneously introducing innovative ways of delivering HR services through business partnering and strategic HR.
Angelina holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Business Administration, awarded by the University of Nottingham Trent.
Ms. Farah Jihan oversees the Legal Department of Tokio Marine Life. Prior to joining the Company, Jihan was a solicitor in Messrs Raja, Darryl & Loh practicing primarily in life insurance and unit trust related work. She has acted for various life insurance companies and takaful operators and has appeared at all levels of the Court including the appellate courts. Apart from her experience in life insurance matters, Jihan brings with her a diverse practice in general commercial and civil litigation.
Jihan was called to the English Bar as a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn, London and admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
