What is TMCare Individual Hospital & Surgical insurance?
It is a comprehensive medical insurance policy which covers expensive medical costs when the need for hospitalisation arises due to illness or injury. The policy provides:

All plans assure no deductible or co-payment fees on your hospitalization expenses.
Hospitalization and treatment costs due to accidents or sickness.
If you take up this policy below the age of 60, policy is renewable up to 75 years of age subject to yearly review.
For children, policy is renewable up to the age of 25, provided that the child pursues full-time tertiary education, is single and dependent upon you.

Hospitalisation & surgical benefits
Hospital room charges Covers normal ward room and board charges, intensive care ward charges incurred. There is no deductible and no limit on the number of days hospitalised.
Miscellaneous services This pays for expenses in respect of in-hospital doctor’s visit, drugs, medicine, laboratory tests, administration and the cost of blood or blood plasma, ambulance fees etc.
Lodger benefit For a child not more than 12 years of age, it pays for the expenses incurred for an adult required to accompany the insured person during hospitalisation due to an accident or illness.
Surgical procedures This covers (including day surgery) without regard to a surgical schedule that is commonly imposed in other health and surgical insurance.
Specialist consultation, examination and laboratory test Covers specialist fees in respect of consultation, pathology and radiography following referral from a general practitioner. This benefit will not apply if the insured person is not hospitalised or surgically treated subsequent to the diagnosis.
Post-hospitalisation treatment Covers follow-up treatment by the same physician up to a period of 90 days immediately following discharge from hospital.
Emergency dental treatment This pays for dental treatment expenses needed to restore or replace teeth lost or damaged by an accident.
Emergency accidental out-patient treatment This covers expenses for emergency out-patient treatment of accidental bodily injuries received within 24 hours of the accident. It will also pay for treatment for injuries (other than bone fractures) by a Chinese physician subject to a limit of $200 per accident.
Emergency illness out-patient treatment This pays for expenses for emergency out-patient treatment between 12am and 6am of the same day at a hospital.
Emergency medical evacuation and repatriation
This operates only when the insured person is overseas. It pays for expenses incurred for air and/or surface transportation, medical care during transportation and other ancillary charges incurred in moving the insured person to the nearest hospital.
In the event of death, it pays for the expenses incurred to transport the insured person’s mortal remains back to the country of residence or cost of burial/cremation at the place of death.
Accidental miscarriage This pays for charges incurred for emergency treatment for miscarriage due to an accident. Treatment should be sought within 24 hours of the accident.
Special grant This is payable if an insured person dies from an injury or illness during or after treatment at a hospital or in day surgery.
Organ transplant This pays for the cost for surgical transplant of the heart, lung, kidney, liver and bone marrow performed in a hospital. However, it excludes the cost of acquiring the organ and cost incurred by the donor.
Out-patient cancer treatment & out-patient kidney dialysis treatment This covers the expenses incurred in respect of out-patient cancer treatment and/or out-patient kidney dialysis treatment.
Medical report fee This pays for costs of obtaining medical reports in respect of eligible medical claims under the policy.
Daily hospital income If an insured person is hospitalised in a government or government restructured hospital (excluding National University Hospital) due to a disability covered under this policy, an allowance will be paid for each 24-hour period of hospitalisation up to thirty (30) days. A time excess of forty-eight (48) hours is applicable to this benefit.
Home nursing This covers home nursing provided by a registered nurse immediately following the insured person’s discharge from hospital if it is considered necessary by the attending physician.

Any known medical condition from which the insured person is suffering on or before the issuance of the policy.
Hospitalisation or surgical charges incurred directly or indirectly for the treatment of congenital abnormalities or physical defects that have been in existence since birth.
Out-patient treatment that is not related to the in-patient treatment or day surgery except where it is resulting from an accident.
Hospitalisation primarily for diagnosis, x-ray examinations, general physical or medical check-up.
Treatment for obesity, weight reduction, weight improvement, refractive errors of the eyes, correction of vision, medical appliances, spectacles, lenses, hearing aids, wheel chairs, prostheses and cosmetic or plastic surgery including the provision of implants.
Sexually transmitted diseases or communicable diseases requiring isolation or quarantine by Law.
Treatments for pregnancy-related matters and miscarriage (except as a result of an accident)
Injury resulting from war and terrorism.
