What is Work Injury Compensation Act insurance?

  • This policy covers the liability of employer to pay compensation to their employees who suffered work-related injury, occupational illness or diseases in accordance to the Work Injury Compensation Act. 
  • All employees engaged under a contract of service or apprenticeship is covered under WICA regardless of their salary level.
  • Alternatively, an injured employee can also file a civil suit against the employer under common law for damages. They can claim from either WICA or common law but not from both.
