On February 28th 2026, the USA and Israel launched strategic missile attacks on political and military sites in Iran. This was met with retaliatory strikes by Iran at Israel and USA bases across the Gulf Region.
We wish to inform policyholders that most travel insurance policies, including TM Travel Trust, contain a general exclusion for acts of war and military conflict. For TM Travel Trust, this exclusion is outlined under General Exclusion 5. As such, coverage under the policy will be limited given that this is a General Exclusion which applies to all sections of the policy.
As the conflict is now classified as a known event, please note that our policy does not provide coverage for any loss or liability arising directly or indirectly from, or in connection with, this situation. In view of this, we would like to also advise as follows:
Guidance for policyholders who are due to travel:
As several countries in the affected region have closed their airspace, and the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued travel advisories against travelling to the affected region, we strongly advise policyholders to contact their travel supplier (operator or carrier) for updates relating to their flight status.
If a policyholder cannot travel due to the conflict, for example if the travel operator or carrier has cancelled the flight, he/she should contact their travel supplier for available options (such as a refund, rebooking or change of destination).
Guidance for policyholders already travelling in affected countries:
Policyholders should follow the advice issued by the local government or Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and follow local media reports for updates.
In partnership with our 24-hour Medical & Emergency Assistance provider, AWP Services Singapore, we continue to offer assistance to policyholders already in impacted areas, such as advice on disrupted travel plans and available remedial actions. Medical assistance remains available for unforeseen medical issues or accidents.
Affected policyholders in the region may contact AWP Services Singapore at +65 6995 1118 (available 24/7). Please quote your policy number when calling.
Additionally, TM Travel Trust policies will be automatically extended—without additional premium—for up to 14 days if your public transport bound for Singapore is delayed. Standard policy terms and conditions remain applicable, including the exclusions noted above.
We remain dedicated to delivering the highest level of support and care during these challenging times.
