Our History

PT Asuransi Tokio Marine Indonesia (formerly PT. Asuransi Jayasraya) is a joint venture between Tokio Marine Asia Pte. Ltd. and PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia. The 1st Head Office of PT Asuransi Tokio Marine Indonesia was located in Skyline Building, Jakarta. On May 25, 1990, the Company started to expand its corporate network by opening a Branch Office in Surabaya. The Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders held on July 31, 1990 agreed to change the name of the Company from PT. Asuransi Jayasraya to PT Asuransi Tokio Marine Indonesia. During that period, our Head Office moved from Skyline Building to Wisma Kyoei Prince. The Company further continued to broaden its network by opening another 6 (six) Branch Offices in Bandung, Medan, Semarang, Makassar, Pekanbaru and Palembang as well as 3 (three) Representative Offices in Batam, Cikarang and Lampung. In 90’s, the Company had about 100 employees, with a Gross Written Premiums accumulation of USD 20 million. Along with its business expansion, Gross Written

Premiums also increased significantly to become USD 77 million in 2012 as well as the number of employees grew to 278. In 2014, the number of employees has reached 337.
