In response to the changes in the business world over the past few years, especially the post-COVID-19 pandemic, companies now need to reevaluate their approach to Employee Benefits they offer to their employees, to ensure that the benefits provided align with the objectives. Employee Benefits are crucial for companies as they empower business players to attract and retain the best talents while supporting employees throughout, especially in enhancing well-being, boosting employee motivation, and retaining internal talent, which ultimately contributes to advancing the company's business
Speaking at the Seminar "Boosting Employee Benefits through Digital Insurance Services & Personalization" held by PT Asuransi Tokio Marine Indonesia (TMI) yesterday (May 13) in Jakarta, Chief Commercial Officer of Deloitte Indonesia, Satya Radjasa, stated that companies now need to adapt their Employee Benefits based on the current cross-generational needs, such as Millennials, Gen Z, and beyond.
"Standard benefit packages may no longer be attractive enough to retain cross-generational talents. Companies need to tailor Employee Benefits according to employees' needs. Additionally, companies should also consider the values emphasized by each generation. For example, Generation Y and Z often prioritize companies that contribute positively to society or the environment, while Baby Boomers may be more concerned about job stability and retirement programs. By offering suitable and flexible benefit packages, companies not only attract the best talents from all generations but also build an inclusive culture and a supportive work environment," said Satya.
Still, at the same event, the Chief Technology Officer of PT Asuransi Tokio Marine Indonesia, Foster Kurniawan, mentioned that the pandemic has brought significant changes to the work system. Therefore, to promote the potential and active participation of employees, TMI implements a structured strategy to balance employee needs with the company's resource availability.
"In determining post-pandemic Employee Benefits needs, we have studied and compared changes in work system trends before and after the pandemic. Additionally, we also conducted surveys through special meetings with employee representatives, to study changes and benchmark by actively participating in external compensation and benefits surveys to understand their position in the industry and share best practices from other companies as case studies. By doing so, TMI can measure the effectiveness of Employee Benefits to retain and increase employee productivity through providing protection and benefits, not only for health and finances but also protection for employees' assets and their family's future," said Foster.
To support the new trends in Employee Benefits and how a company can adopt them, TMI provides an agile and dynamic platform, namely the Worksite 2.0 platform, which enables employees to access it quickly, online, and digitally. This platform is developed based on in-depth research and offers various customizable protection options to meet the needs of cross-generational employees. Moreover, TMI also identifies workload, evaluates the company's resource availability, and chooses whether tasks will be managed internally or externally, as well as utilizing technology and digital solutions to create an effective and efficient work environment.
In line with Foster, the Head of Affinity & Financial Institution of PT Asuransi Tokio Marine Indonesia, Ahmad Khomaini, stated that the Worksite 2.0 platform will provide many benefits for employees. "Worksite 2.0 is a digital platform specifically tailored for companies and their employees, making them feel they exclusively own the platform, both in terms of design and user experience. This exclusive offering will provide a sense of specialness for employees. The process of offering and purchasing is fast, efficient, and digital, not adding to the company's workload, even receiving full support from TMI," said Ahmad.
Ahmad also emphasized that the appearance of the Worksite 2.0 platform will be customized to the communication style of each company, especially the look & feel according to the company's branding. The purchasing process is straightforward, scanning the QR code or clicking the link, selecting the appropriate product, filling out the form, and uploading the employee's ID photo as part of the validation process. Followed by choosing the payment method such as credit/debit card, digital wallet, and bank transfer. After the purchase is complete, the e-policy will be issued immediately and emailed to the employee, and the protection will be activated immediately.
"Employees can buy insurance products very easily and quickly, with just a few clicks. With a customizable appearance and easy-to-use platform, it is expected to increase employees' confidence in choosing the protection package they need. Employees will feel the unique value of the platform designed specifically for them, increasing satisfaction with the company. TMI will support digital campaigns with partner companies for their employees," Ahmad further added.
In addition to a faster and more efficient insurance product purchase process, the use of the platform itself does not incur administrative costs charged to the company, thus minimizing administrative burdens. "By automating the digital insurance purchase process, administrative burdens can be minimized. Therefore, the Worksite 2.0 platform is an innovative solution that can help companies provide more effective and personalized insurance protection for their employees," Ahmad concluded.
