Jakarta, January 30, 2025 – PT Asuransi Tokio Marine Indonesia (TMI) reaffirms its commitment to enhancing the performance of its agents by holding the Agency Kick-Off 2025 event themed "Synergy for Our Future," in January 2025, at Lavva Lounge, Plaza Senayan, Jakarta. The event showcased a range of digital innovations and new agency programs aimed at boosting performance and strengtheningcompetitiveness in the Indonesian general insurance industry. The event was attended by numerous of Tokio Marine Indonesia agents from accross the country and was also enlivened by the presentation of awards to outstanding agents in 2024 who made significant contributions to TMI. Present at the event were Mr. Sancoyo Setiabudi, President Director of TMI; Mr. Foster Kurniawan, Chief Technology Officer of TMI; Mr. Muhammad Ali, Chief Distribution Officer of TMI; Mr. Doddy Dwi S. Sinaga, National Agency Business Head of TMI; and Mr. Djoko Mulyono, Head of Product Development at TMI.
In his address to the agents, Muhammad Ali, Chief Distribution Officer of TMI, stated, "The last few years have been a challenging period for TMI and the insurance industry as a whole. However, thanks to the extraordinary contributions of TMI's agents, in 2024, we successfully achieved a premium of 2.3 trillion and a reduction in claims compared to the previous year. Additionally, in terms of the company’s financial health, TMI recorded a Risk-Based Capital (RBC) far exceeding the minimum limit set by the government. For this, we deeply appreciate and thank the agents for their dedication and commitment."
Furthermore, Muhammad Ali said, “We also recorded significant growth in the number of agents. Last year, we added 53 new agents, bringing the total to 502 registered agents. This achievement is remarkable as it contributed to a premium growth of 33 billion from the agency channel last year, and we hope this increase in agents will have an even greater positive impact in 2025."
In 2024, TMI implemented various strategies to enhance the contribution of agents to the company, including the introduction of key products targeting the retail and SME segments . TMI also launched several innovations, such as the update of the Tokio Marine Agency Application (TAPPS), which supports and simplifies TMI agents in selling Tokio Marine Indonesia’s insurance products.
Foster Kurniawan, Chief Technology Officer of TMI shared, "At the beginning of 2025, TMI launched three new innovations designed to support and simplify agents' work." The first innovation is the update of the TAPPS application, designed specifically for TMI agents, now featuring four new functions: Real-Time Production Tracking (showing sales and achievements live), Outstanding Reminder (reminding unpaid premiums), Renewal Reminder (helping agents proactively secure policy renewals), and Points Reward (facilitating point tracking and incentive redemptions). In addition, TMI introduced the Digital Emergency Road Assistant (ERA) service, which offers a unique selling point compared to competitors, such as direct chat with mechanics, real-time tracking of towing vehicles, fast response, and nationwide coverage. For TMI agents, the advantages of the Digital ERA not only provide the best experience for customers but also drive sales growth due to the fast and easy service, differentiating TMI’s vehicle insurance products. Lastly, TMI introduced the Agency AI Personal Assistant (APA), an innovation that positions TMI as a pioneer in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the insurance industry. Supported by AI-Powered Support features, multi-language communication, responses tailored to customer needs, product recommendations (upselling), and 24/7 access, this solution is expected to help TMI agents work more efficiently and effectively, deliver exceptional service to customers.
Meanwhile, Doddy Dwi S. Sinaga, Agency Department Head of TMI, mentioned that TMI continuously offers various attractive programs, such as travel incentives, for agents who achieve their targets. In 2024, TMI awarded 21 tickets for trips to Japan and 64 tickets for trips to Germany. For this year’s campaign, TMI will introduce a new travel program, in addition to trips to Japan, Switzerland, and Italy, targeting all agents with an annualpremium target between 250 million to 500 million per year, with Vietnam as one of the destination.
"Additionally, for the upcoming campaign in 2025, TMI will continue the program from last year, which was quite effective in motivating agents to continue growing while also contributing to the company's profitability. There will also be added benefits for outstanding agents. We remain committed to offering the best for our top performers agents," said Doddy Dwi S. Sinaga , concluding the afternoon event.
Furthermore, Djoko Mulyono, Head of Product Development at TMI, unveiled the latest innovation in TMI's product lineup, Autopartner. This new insurance prouduct is designed to support agents market in marketing with g competitive advantages in the market. Offering flexibility, Autoparners features three package options—Comprehensive Basic, Comprehensive Plus, and Total Loss Only (TLO)—and various features such as protection up to the vehicle’s 20th year, Emergency Road Assistance, and 24 options for coverage extension tailored to customer needs.
TMI also introduced special coverage for electric vehicles, including battery and charging device coverage. With additional features like New for Old, replacement for tires and rims, and replacement vehicle services, this product provides more convenience and comfort for customers. For agents, this innovation not only enhances the product’s appeal in a competitive market but also strengthens TMI's position as a partner that supports their marketing efficiency and success.
