Important Notes

Please note under Section 82C (11) of the Income Tax Act 1967, any personal data processed for e-invoice issued or transmitted to the Director General of IRBM will not be subject to the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709). Rest assured, your information and the use of your information by TMIM will be in accordance with TMIM Privacy Policy.

For e-Invoicing purposes, your new NRIC number is required for e-invoice validation. Customers who have yet to update their old NRIC to new NRIC, please head to the nearest Branch or servicing agent to update your NRIC. This is applicable to individual customers only.
For non-individual/corporate customers, new Business Registration Number (BRN), Tax Identification Number (TIN) and Sales and Service Tax (SST) Registration Number (if applicable) are mandatory information for e-invoice validation.
TMIM will only issue e-Invoice(s) to one (1) email address per customer for e-Invoice purposes. All e-Invoices for your policies with TMIM will be sent only to your registered email address that you have submitted and registered.

Implementation of mandatory issuance of standalone e-Invoices for transactions exceeding Malaysian Ringgit Ten Thousand (RM10,000)

Effective 1 January 2026, the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (“IRB”) requires standalone e-Invoice to be issued for each transaction with a value exceeding RM10,000. This is applicable across all industries / sectors including the financial services industry.

Key Changes

An e-Invoice is required to be issued for each qualifying transaction, regardless of whether it is requested by you.

To ensure compliance with the new IRB’s requirement, TMIM will begin issuing e-Invoices for any single transaction with a value exceeding RM10,000 starting January 2026.

We seek your cooperation in providing your e-invoicing information to our servicing agent during the purchase/renewal of insurance policy, if you have not done so, and ensure that the information provided is accurate and complete.

As a continuous effort for TMIM to comply with the above latest e-invoicing requirements, where your Tax Identification Number (TIN) is required and you have not provided your TIN and/or your TIN Validation Status is invalid, TMIM will take the necessary steps to perform a TIN search through the IRB’s TIN retrieval function and to proceed with submission of standalone e-invoices to IRB if the TIN search is successful.
